How does a diaphragm valve work?
The operation of the diaphragm valve includes movement of the diaphragm which is positioned within the valve body. They can be operated by a handwheel or by an actuator, when it is operated it raises the steam which moves the diaphragm away from the seat and allows fluids to flow through the valve, the flow rate can be controlled by adjusting the height of the diaphragm. The more the diaphragm is raised, the greater the fluid flow, enabling accurate control and allowing for precise throttling, and when the actuator stops the diaphragm goes back to its original position and seals with the valve seat. This creates a blockage in the fluid movement, forming a tight seal and preventing any potential leaks.
