I’m in Kingston, Jamaica, as the island prepares for Hurricane Melissa, a storm that could become one of the strongest to ever hit this country.
From fishing villages to city streets, people are boarding up, praying, and waiting. It’s not about panic, it’s about preparation. And for many, the hardest part is the waiting.
Hurricane Melissa is forecast to bring winds over 150 mph, massive storm surge, and catastrophic flooding across parts of Jamaica and the Caribbean.
This is what it looks and feels like before the storm hits, through the eyes of the people who live here.
