Tensions in the Middle East are escalating rapidly as the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran enters its third week. New missile strikes across Iran’s Isfahan province have killed at least 15 people, while Iranian forces warn Gulf countries to stay away from strategic oil ports amid threats of further escalation.
The crisis is centered around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy routes. Nearly one-fifth of global oil shipments pass through this narrow waterway, making any disruption a potential trigger for a worldwide energy crisis.
US President Donald Trump has threatened continued strikes along Iran’s coastline to force Tehran to end its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has vowed retaliation, warning Gulf residents near key oil facilities to evacuate.
The conflict is spreading across the region. Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon have killed several civilians, while Hezbollah continues launching rockets into Israeli territory. There are growing fears that Israel could launch a major ground invasion of Lebanon, the largest since the 2006 war.
Meanwhile, US diplomatic and military targets are under threat. The US embassy in Baghdad was struck by missiles, and drone attacks have targeted oil infrastructure in northern Iraq. Energy facilities across the Gulf, including ports and refineries, are now considered potential targets.
Across the Gulf region, air defenses have intercepted drones and missiles in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar. Iran has also issued warnings that major ports such as Fujairah, Jebel Ali, and Khalifa Port could become legitimate military targets.
The rapidly expanding conflict has sparked global concern about energy markets, regional stability, and the possibility of a wider Middle East war.
