In data shared with ITV News, Safer Gems said Ten incidents of armed robbery were reported within the first three months of this year, up from just one reported incident last year.
This resulted in a total loss of £3.2 million worth of goods, and marks a significant increase from the same period in 2025, where £60,000 of losses were reported.
Police are advising jewellers and luxury stores shore up their methods of protection, including installing fog machines.
