R.I.P Samsung S26 | Xiaomi 17 Review

Reviewing the Xiaomi 17 (global model), the best smartphone for fans of mini handsets in 2026 with its impressive battery tech, flexible Leica camera and premium specs. Sure, the Xiaomi 17 global edition isn't perfect, with some unfortunate gaming side-effects. But I really enjoyed my time testing this compact phone, which is a serious Samsung Galaxy S26 rival.

First up, you've got that beefy Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in charge. Gamers can play intensive titles like Wuthering Waves on the Xiaomi 17, same as the Samsung S26. However, this smartphone does get quite toasty, to worrying degrees.

That Leica camera setup is a banger as always, with fresh hardware for this 2026 model (unlike the Galaxy S26). You can capture great-looking night shots and portraits, with a decent telephoto shooter attached. The Xiaomi 17 is also decent for recording video, if you want a mini vlogging device.
