Former defence secretary Lord Robertson says UK is 'underprepared' for war

Former defence secretary and NATO chief Lord Robertson has delivered a damning verdict on the UK's defence policy.

In a speech in Salisbury, he said: "We are underprepared, we are underinsured, we're under attack, we're not safe."

He went on to say defence needs vastly overhauling, but it "needs money to deliver it" and there is a "corrosive complacency in Britain's political leadership".
