Voters in Hungary have been turning out in record numbers to cast ballots in a key election that could mark a turning point after 16 years under Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Polling is due to close at 19:00 CET, with opinion surveys suggesting a close contest.
Orban's Fidesz party faces a strong challenge from opposition leader Peter Magyar, whose center right Tisza party has consolidated much of the anti government vote. Magyar has campaigned on tackling corruption and rebuilding ties with the European Union, while Orban is appealing to voters on stability, national sovereignty, good ties with Russia and restraint towards support for Ukraine.
