Keir Starmer refuses to join Donald Trump's blockade on the Strait of Hormuz
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has refused to support US President Donald Trump’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to The Telegraph, the UK will not send warships to enforce the blockade but will reportedly send minesweepers to clear the Strait.
On Sunday, following failed peace talks with Iran, Trump announced the US Navy will blockade “any and all ships trying to enter, or leave” the Strait.
US Vice President JD Vance led the reported 21-hour negotiations, which inevitably failed due to Iran's refusal to give up its nuclear programme.
