The Sky Blues were looking for their fourth consecutive Final in the competition, while the Saints were hoping to repeat their title-winning miracle run from 50 years ago. Both sides struggled the break the deadlock in the first half, Manchester City came close but were denied by be an excellent near-post save from Daniel Peretz. The second-half continued with Pep Guardiola's side on the front-foot, pinning Tonda Eckert's men back for much of the 45 minutes. But late in the half, Finn Azaz picked up the ball on the counter and scored a world-class effort, silencing the Citizens and sending the travelling Saints fans into an uproar as the net rippled. However, the lead was short-lived as Jérémy Doku sent in a defelcted effort just minutes later to tie the game. And last year's finalists didn't stop there, as shortly after Nico González sent in a screamer of his own to send his side to yet another Final.
