Iran's foreign minister has mockingly referred to Donald Trump's "Project Freedom" to restore the flow of shipping as "Project Deadlock." Abbas Aragchi also warned the US there's no military solution to the war. It follows claims and counterclaims about attacks on shipping in the strait.
Tehran said it stopped a US warship from entering the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, with state media reporting that two missiles had hit the American vessel. However, US Central Command rejected that claim, while President Trump said the US had hit several "small boats" as part of its operation to reopen the key waterway.
