Watch live: SpaceX launches Starship on 6th test flight, tries to catch returning booster
Watch live as a SpaceX Super Heavy booster and Starship launch on its 6th test flight featuring the second attempt to catch a returning booster with the chopsticks on launch pad tower, nicknamed 'Mechazilla.'
Liftoff from SpaceX's Starbase facility at Boca Chica Beach, in Texas, is scheduled for 4 p.m. CST / 5 p.m. EST / 2200 UTC on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the opening of a 30-minute launch window.
The Starship vehicle, featuring changes to its heat shield, should achieve near-orbital velocity on a mission that will take it half way around the world. A test firing of a single Raptor vacuum engine is planned while the craft is in space. Starship will then reenter the atmosphere and make a gentle splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
Our live coverage, hosted by Will Robinson-Smith, will begin 90 minutes before launch and is brought to you in partnership with LabPadre.
