Irish lifting firm W.H. Scott buys UK based RHC Lifting

W.H. Scott Group, the Wicklow based lifting equipment firm, has bought one of the UK's larger companies in the sector. RHC Lifting Ltd is based in southern England and employs 70 people. The acquisition will bring to 300 the total number of people employed by W.H. Scott. It will make the combined group the largest independent lift solutions provider in the UK and Ireland. "This acquisition of one of the most respected companies in this space will guarantee the W.H. Scott Group delivers on its plans to be at the forefront of our chosen business areas across Ireland and the UK," said Patrick Doyle, CEO of W.H. Scott Group. "RHC lifting has a strong, proven track record and is managed by passionate people who align with W.H. Scott Group’s own passion." Headquartered in Rathnew, this will be W.H. Scott’s fifth acquisition in the space. It offers a range of lifting and industrial safety services to its customers through its specialised operating entities W.H. Scott & Son Engineers, Hiltonne Engineers, Metlab, Re-Ropes and Hutcheon examination services. A year ago, W.H. Scott Group received an investment from Renatus Capital Partners. "W.H. Scott Group, led by Patrick Doyle, has positioned itself as a market leader in its space by being ambitious, customer focused, and uncompromising on product and service quality," said Phil Goodway, Director of RHC. "We have been hugely impressed with the philosophy of the owners at WH Scott Group, its growth to date under Patrick and the management team’s leadership and we are excited by their plans for the Group." RHC Lifting was set up in 2001 by Phil Goodway, Tony Morgan and Andy Cayzer and all three directors will remain with the company.
