Car hits Luas in early morning south Dublin crash
A car hit a Luas in an early morning crash in Tallaght. Gardai rushed to the scene of the smash on Thursday morning at around 6:15am, after receiving a report that a car had collided with a light rail transit vehicle on the Fettercairn Road. Footage seen by Dublin Live shows a man in a white T-shirt running away from the Luas and ducking under a fence. The camera then pans to the Luas, where a white car is seen after having smashed into the carriage. Services along the Red Line extension between Saggart and Belgard were suspended after the crash, with a replacement bus service running in place. The line reopened an hour later. A Garda spokesperson said no injuries were reported during the incident They said: “Gardaí attended the scene of a collision involving a car and a light rail transit vehicle that occurred on Fettercairn Road, Dublin 24 at approximately 6:15am this morning, Thursday, 10 April.
