Eddie Rockets restaurant closed due to 'rodent activity'
An Eddie Rockets outlet in Dublin was slapped with a closure order due to rodent activity. The Eddie Rockets in Point Village, East Wall Road, Dublin 1 was served with the enforcement order to close on March 26, 2025 after inspectors discovered the "presence of multiple fresh rodent droppings in multiple areas throughout the kitchen including; in the wash up area, in the area where cleaning equipment is stored". Additionally, a recent report from the outlet's pest controller (dated 19/03/25) confirmed rodent activity in the kitchen. Other reasons included the lack of cleanliness and evidence of non-compliance with food safety management procedures. The closure order was lifted on March 31, 2025. Separately, Stela Food Stores Unit 8, Ringwood Centre, Damastown Close, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 was hit with a closure order on March 13, 2025. The closed areas excluded the three 40-foot fixed containers and one 40-foot container attached to mobile trailer outside the building. The HSE report states rodent droppings were found on the first floor storage area as well as the shop ground floor. Inspectors also noted visible gnaw marks on a bag of rice. The order is yet to be lifted at the time of writing. The PY Fast Food Food Stall, Trading on Moore Street, Dublin 1 was served a closure order on March 10, 2025 due to the lack of refrigerated units in the food stall to store meat and ready-to-eat foods and inadequate handwashing facilities, among other reasons.
