The new Aquazzura Bar, nestled within the hidden courtyard of the Hotel de Russie, is an enchanting oasis that brings together Aquazzura’s signature aesthetics and the timeless elegance of the celebrated hotel. Designed as a secret garden within a secret garden, the space embodies the essence of La Dolce Vita, offering a serene retreat from the bustling streets of Rome. Guests entering the majestic hotel are led into a lush, flourishing oasis that feels like stepping into an elegant storybook.

The design concept for the bar is inspired by the Aquazzura Casa Secret Garden tableware collection. This stunning space is enriched by botanical motifs that recall 18th-century illustrations, bringing the natural beauty of birds, butterflies, and verdant tones into the modern-day sanctuary. A careful balance of whimsical details and sophisticated elegance has been crafted through custom-designed patterns — black-and-white stripes define the bar’s exterior, while the interior unfolds into the vibrant, nature-inspired Secret Garden pattern.
The bespoke Portuguese tiles, hand-painted with delicate lemon motifs, are a nod to Italy’s colorful citrus groves, and the outdoor metal furniture is complemented by tufted chairs and plush sofas, ensuring both style and comfort. Green trelliswork and vibrant lemon trees in striped planters frame the space, offering an immersive, garden-like atmosphere that seamlessly merges with the hotel’s famous Valadier Garden, which rises dramatically behind the bar.

Aquazzura’s founder and creative director, Edgardo Osorio, has long had a passion for interiors and hosting, which he has now translated into this hospitality venture. “Hosting is an act of love,” Osorio says. “You create an experience for your guests — from the music to the food, to how the table is set. It’s always been a dream of mine to translate the world of Aquazzura into a hospitality space.”

Lydia Forte, Director of Rocco Forte Hotels, adds, “Edgardo and I dreamed up the Aquazzura Bar amid holiday ease — relaxed, laughing, surrounded by friends — and aimed to bottle that vibe. Our job, at its heart, is to make people happy, embracing each guest and magically uplifting their mood. It’s in the details: the bartender’s friendly nod, the glass’ delicate line, the ice’s clink, the cocktail’s balanced flavor profile, the sounds and scents of the garden. Yet, what lingers is a feeling and finally, a memory of that feeling.”
A New Chapter for Aquazzura

Since its debut in 2012, Aquazzura has built a reputation for creating luxurious yet wearable footwear, crafted in Italy with a focus on comfort and style. The brand has continued to grow, launching new product lines like the Casa Collection, which includes exquisite tableware, and its first handbag collection in 2025. The collaboration with Hotel de Russie further cements Aquazzura’s transformation into a lifestyle brand.
The Aquazzura Bar offers an unforgettable experience where luxury meets playfulness, creating the perfect setting for socializing or relaxing in style. It’s a harmonious blend of the hospitality excellence Rocco Forte Hotels is known for and the bold, modern elegance that Aquazzura has brought to the world of fashion.
