Interplanetary Space Travel in Starfield? Reddit Dataminers think so
Eagle-eyed Redditors have spotted new code in a recent Starfield update that suggests a new, much requested feature could be coming to the game in the new future.
While many Starfield fans are desperately looking for any and all information on the next expansion following up on Shattered Space, it hasn’t stopped them for investigating all the latest code of some of the most recent update. This it seems, has led to a new discovery
New Findings in the last 2 update suggest Dev team is adding a highly request feature: Interplanetary Travelbyu/Zealousideal-Buyer-7 inStarfield
A post from reddit user ‘Zealousideal-Buyer-7‘ (who credits someone else named xtcrefugee) suggests that new code has been discovered that refers to ‘cruising’ in the game, and it seems to be new. Travelling from planet to planet manually has long been requested as an update to Starfield, rather than the very frequent loading screens we currently get today. In the most recent patch notes, Bethesda noted “Looking ahead, we’re continuing work on future updates and will share more about the exciting things we have planned for Starfield in the coming months.“
We thoroughly enjoyed Starfield at launch, with our Reviews Editor Jesse saying “Starfield is a new beginning. Not only for Bethesda but for Xbox as a whole. With excellent writing, stunning graphics, and thrilling gameplay it makes the galaxy yours to explore, shape, and live in. It is a wonderous tapestry to experience your story in a way that only the best have done before.“
Could a ‘Starfield 2.0’ of sorts be in the works? Alongside that long rumoured PlayStation 5 version? Only space and time will tell.
