A new Persona crossover has been teased, and it's likely something players didn't expect. Though Persona has had a significant number of crossovers and guest appearances in other games already, it seems there's a new one that will be revealed soon.
2026 should be a pretty significant year for the Persona franchise. In addition to it marking the 30th anniversary of the entire series, this will also be the year that Persona 5 turns 10 years old itself. Persona fans have been desperate to learn more about its eventual sequel, Persona 6, but so far Atlus and Sega haven't revealed anything substantial regarding the next mainline entry. As fans are left wondering about Persona 6, it seems that there's a new Persona 5 spin-off in the works.

Persona and Fitness Boxing Collide
A new teaser has been released for what seems to be an upcoming Persona spin-off, with the tease being made by the Fitness Boxing social media account. On its Japanese Twitter feed, Fitness Boxing posted an image of dialogue between two unnamed people, stylized in the form of Persona 5. The first dialogue box asks what the second person is preparing for, while the second responds with a chuckle and says that they intend to train the first speaker in a different way than usual. The final line all but confirms that a Persona and Fitness Boxing crossover are in the works, as it says that physical strength is essential to being a Phantom Thief, the name of Joker's group in Persona 5. While no names are mentioned, judging by the context and mannerisms, it's likely that the second speaker is Morgana, the not-a-cat guide to Joker and the Phantom Thieves in Persona 5.
The tweet didn't reveal much more than that, as no further information was shared by the account. Judging from prior Nintendo Switch Fitness Boxing games, players can likely expect a cardio fitness game with Persona 5 characters acting as trainers. It's also highly likely that the music of the original games will be implemented in the fitness title. Gamers likely don't have to wait much longer for the announcement to be officially made. A new Persona website has opened to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary, and while it hasn't revealed much yet, its first update will land on January 8. It seems highly likely given the timing of the tweet that the new game will be revealed then.
Persona and Fitness Boxing are No Stranger to CrossoversWhile a fitness game - let alone Fitness Boxing - collaborating with Persona might seem unusual, it's far from the first crossover for either franchise. The first Fitness Boxing game launched in 2018, and since then, the series has seen spin-offs and crossovers with legendary anime Fist of the North Star as well as popular Vocaloid Hatsune Miku. Persona 5, on the other hand, has seen a redux and expansion of the original game in the form of Persona 5 Royal, as well as direct spin-offs in Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, Persona 5 Strikers, Persona 5 Tactica, and Persona 5: The Phantom X. Persona 5 has also seen a number of crossovers with games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and more recently, Overwatch.
While big fans of the Phantom Thieves and Persona 5 in general are likely happy to see another game, some have expressed feeling fatigue with the spin-offs and crossovers. Some players want to see older Persona games get more attention, while others are ready to move on to a new cast and story in the eventual Persona 6. Unfortunately for long-time series fans, judging by the mention of Phantom Thieves, it seems unlikely that cast members from the older Persona games will be included in the title. Until an official full reveal, though, nothing is completely certain.
