The Gemini app has generated 1 billion Nano Banana Pro images in under two months

In just under two months, Gemini app users around the world have generated 1 billion images using Nano Banana Pro.

The image generation and editing model is officially known as Gemini 3 Pro Image and was announced on November 20.

All (free) users of the Gemini app can generate and edit three images per day with Nano Banana Pro by selecting “Pro” in the model switcher. Afterwards, they can use Nano Banana (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image) up to 100 times/day.

In December, Google added the ability to edit by drawing. After uploading your image to the prompt box, tap it to start doodling and providing instructions.

Google AI Pro subscribers see that limit jump to 100 images per day, while it’s 1,000 images/day with Google AI Ultra. (Nano Banana is currently at 1,000 images/day for both paid tiers.)

Nano Banana Pro excels at generating text across multiple languages, while providing “studio-quality” creative controls like localized editing, adjusting camera angles, changing focus, transforming scene lighting, and more. Various aspect ratios are available with 2K and 4K resolutions supported. This unlocks use cases like generating infographics, explainers, and diagrams.

On the safety front, the Gemini app lets you upload images and videos to check if they were generated with Google AI.

Nano Banana Pro is also available in AI Mode, NotebookLM, Google Slides, Vids, and Flow.
