Roughly 15 years after its launch on iOS, the popular note-taking app Notability is finally coming to Android in the near future.
Notability is a note-taking app for iOS that launched way back in 2010, but has been built up over the years with new features, and today focuses on “smarter” notes with the help of AI. Ginger Labs, the developers of Notability, tout features such as voice-to-text notes, generating quizzes and flashcards from your notes, and being able to have conversations with an AI chatbot around your notes. It also features support for markup on PDFs and other files, the ability to view and edit two notes at the same time, sync between notes and audio recordings, and more.
Out of over 435,000 reviews on the App Store, Notability has a 4.8-star rating. In other words, it’s incredibly well-received by users, and even earned an Editors’ Choice award from Apple.
So it’s rather nice to see that Notability is finally coming to Android.
Advertisement - scroll for more contentGinger Labs announced on Threads that Notability is coming to Android this year, with a beta dropping in April 2026. The app is said to be on-par with the iOS version in terms of performance, while also being built fully native for Android rather than a simple port.

The Notability app is free to download on iOS, though it does have a subscription for some of its AI tools, handwriting recognition, math conversion, backup, audio transcripts, and “unlimited note-taking.” It stands to reason the app will probably also be free on Android with an optional subscription.
