Timothy Busfield sexually abused third child whose therapist dad thought it would be better for actor to receive COUNSELING than be arrested, explosive new court documents allege

West Wing star Timothy Busfield has been accused of sexually assaulting a third child in a bombshell new lawsuit seen by the Daily Mail.

The 68-year-old Emmy award-winning actor was charged last week with sexually assaulting twin boys on the set of TV series The Cleaning Lady from 2022 until 2024.

Now, in a separate motion filed in New Mexico, Busfield has been accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl while she was auditioning for a show.

The alleged victim's father told police Busfield groped the aspiring actress 'several years ago' at the theater he founded in Sacramento, California

'While auditioning for the defendant at B Street Threatre, the 16-year-old reported that (he) kissed her and put his hands down her pants and touched her privates,' the motion states.

Busfield allegedly 'begged the family to not report to law enforcement if he received therapy,' and the alleged victim's father, being a 'therapist himself, thought at the time that was the best thing to do.'

The actor has turned himself in to police, and denied all the accusations against him.

He is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Bernalillo County, before a brief hearing in front of a magistrate judge scheduled for Wednesday.

Prosecutors are planning to push for him to continue being held in custody without bond, the Daily Mail understands.

Busfield was slapped with sex abuse charges this week - and reports claim that his wife,  Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert, was listening in on speakerphone as he spoke with police about the allegations in November 2025.

Filed in New Mexico, the earlier lawsuit claims he inappropriately touched two child actors on the set of The Cleaning Lady, which Busfield also directed.

According to his arrest warrant, a probe into Busfield was opened in November 2024 when staff at the University of New Mexico Hospital called police and reported children potentially being groomed on the set of the TV show from 2022 to 2024.

The warrant stated that Busfield told an Albuquerque Police Department investigator that he was in New York at the time, and the actor was said to have brushed off the allegations as a fabricated revenge plot against him.

The allegations were brought forward by the parents of 11-year-old twin boys on the set of Busfield's TV show, and one of the boys allegedly said he was targeted by Busfield when he was seven. Busfield reportedly denied the claims.

In his interview with cops, Busfield allegedly told officers that the boys' parents brought the allegations because they were upset that their sons had been replaced with a younger actor on the show.

This week, federal agents raided Busfield and Gilbert's upstate new York home, less than an hour after he turned himself in.

At least 10 officers, members of the New York Regional Fugitive Task Force, rammed open the door of the $300,000 property in tiny Highland Lake in the Catskill Mountains – demanding any occupants come outside.

The raid, witnessed exclusively by the Daily Mail, occurred within an hour of news breaking that Busfield had handed himself in to authorities in New Mexico, declaring that he was innocent of all accusations.

When they received no response at the door, the marshals, fitted with helmets and shields and armed with assault rifles and riot gear, burst into the home using a battering ram to knock open the white front door.

Several law enforcement officers spent around ten minutes examining the interior, before clearing the rear of the snowy property, which also has an RV and outhouse.

They did not appear to take any belongings when they left.

Seven vehicles pulled into the driveway of the secluded home 20 minutes from the Pennsylvania border, which the couple have called their retreat.
