Double victory for Dylan Browne McMonagle in Hong Kong

Donegal jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle continued his fine run of form in Hong Kong with another winner at Sha Tin yesterday, as Dragon Air Force landed the Green Island Handicap at odds of 31/10.

Riding for trainer P. F. Yiu, the Letterkenny native produced a confident front-running performance on the five-year-old, taking control just over a furlong from home before running on strongly.

The victory marked Browne McMonagle’s second winner from as many Hong Kong meetings. It follows an earlier success on 18th January, when he rode Flow Water Flow to victory at odds of 42/10 in the Triathlon Handicap, also at Sha Tin.

Fresh off of being crowned as Ireland’s Champion Jockey, Browne McMonagle has been taking on some of the biggest races on the international stage in recent months – the latest journey taking him to Asia’s racing scene.

Dylan also won the prestigious Longines Breeders Cup in California in November of last year, netting renowned trainer Willie Mullins a cool £2.9 million prize purse aboard an unfancied 25/1 shot.
