Capcom delivered record software unit sales over the past nine months thanks to burgeoning interest in catalog titles.
As noted in the company's fiscal report for the nine months ended December 31, 2025, total unit sales of video game software increased by 13.5 percent year-on-year to 34.64 million units worldwide. Capcom explained that represents its "highest-ever cumulative total unit and catalog unit sales" for a nine month period.
Catalog titles such as Street Fighter 6—which topped 6 million lifetime sales after launching on the Switch 2—and Devil May Cry 5 were crucial in achieving that milestone.
Resident Evil 4 (12.25 million lifetime sales), Resident Evil Village (13.58 million lifetime sales) and Monster Hunter Rise (18.27 million lifetime sales) were also earmarked as notable performers
As a result, unit sales of catalog titles reached 33.39 million units over the past nine months—a significant increase on the 28.61 million units sold during the same period of the last fiscal year.
Capcom suggested that transmedia initiatives such as the Netflix adaptation of Devil May Cry and its wider esports offerings also boosted its performance.
It also praised the impact of mobile title Resident Evil Survival Unit, which it said "contributed to the increased recognition" of the horror franchise after surpassing 3 million downloads on iOS and Android.

Overall, Capcom delivered net sales of 73.4 billion yen (up 25.4 percent year-on-year) and operating profit of 46 billion yen (up 57.5 percent year-on-year) within its Digital Contents segment—which houses its video game business—over the past nine months.
