Florida’s Golden Beach ‘Most Exclusive’ Neighbourhood

02.02.26

A little-known Florida neighbourhood has quietly established itself as one of the Sunshine State's "most exclusive" communities, drawing in a wave of high-net-worth residents who are willing to fork out millions for the privilege of entry into the secretive enclave.

Unlike its splashier neighbours, such as Bal Harbour and Miami Beach, Golden Beach has remained very much under the radar, drawing in the rich and famous largely through word of mouth.

However, unlike the ritzy lifestyles and excessive displays of wealth that Florida is so well known for, Golden Beach residents pride themselves on valuing discretion above all else - just one of the many reasons why the community has managed to maintain such a strong sense of privacy.

For those lucky enough to be granted a peek behind the curtain, however, a veritable oasis awaits, one that is filled with some of the world's most high-end homes, many of which have been custom-built to their owners' very exacting specifications.

Entry to the community, however, is strictly controlled - not least by its prohibitive house prices and very limited inventory, which make the mere process of attempting to purchase a property inside Golden Beach a near-impossible task, one reserved only for those with the deepest of pockets and, in many cases, the best of connections.

"It’s a very small community with limited turnover, and it’s never been marketed as a destination," luxury Florida listing agent Pablo Alfaro of Compass explains. "Many transactions happen quietly through relationships, so it doesn’t generate the constant visibility you see in other luxury markets.”

With fewer than 400 single-family homes within its borders, Golden Beach has drawn in a huge share of A-list stars and high-profile residents, from Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates and designer Tommy Hilfiger to musicians like Eric Clapton and Ricky Martin.
