In 1998, Burgess opened its first American office, in Fort Lauderdale. It now has a presence in five U.S. cities, with the addition of the Burgess Palm Beach office.
The latest location is on Peruvian Avenue, a short walk from the Town of Palm Beach Marina. It’s a short walk from the galleries, restaurants, and shops lining Worth Avenue, too. Of course, the office is also convenient for customers arriving into or departing from the various FBOs in the city.
The Burgess Palm Beach office team covers multiple disciplines, including brokerage, charter, new-yacht sales, project management, and yacht management. “The opening of our Palm Beach office is a strategic move that allows us to be even closer to our clients in a market that continues to see tremendous growth,” notes Nicolle Austin, Burgess’ COO Americas. According to the 2025 Forbes list of the world’s wealthiest people, 70 have residences in Palm Beach.
Besides Florida, Burgess has offices in New York, Newport Beach, and Aspen, which opened in 2024. Additionally, it has another Florida office, in Miami. In fact, it’s been in Miami since 2005, and in 2023, Burgess moved into a new location in the city’s financial district. The following year, Jonathan Beckett, Burgess’ CEO, moved to Miami from London to oversee further development in the United States.
On a related note, Beckett is celebrating his 45th year with the company. In 1981, when he joined, Burgess had just two other employees and one office. Today, however, it has nearly 300 employees in 18 total offices globally.
