During Nintendo's February 2026 Direct, Capcom arrived with good news regarding Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, the latest upcoming entry in the Monster Hunter Stories series.
As of this moment, Capcom has released a free demo for the game, which you can download right now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
The demo will include the opening chapters of the game, and any progress made within it will be carried over to the full game.

As for its contents, the demo will allow players to create their protagonist using its advanced character creator, experience a taste of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection's in-depth combat and exploration gameplay, the new Habitat Restoration system, and catch several Monsties to add to their collection of critters.

(Image credit: Capcom)On a side note, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection also revealed during its free demo announcement that Malzeno, the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, will be featured in the game as no doubt a challenging boss to overcome.
As someone who loved Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, it's pretty cool to see Malzeno make a comeback for this game. Hopefully, this means that Malzeno will become a recruitable Monstie for us to control in battle like Nergigante was for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.
I've been looking forward to playing this game for months because of how much it aims to evolve the gameplay and presentation of the Monster Hunter Stories series.
Thanks to this demo, I finally can get a brief taste of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection ahead of its March 13, 2026 launch for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
