Omnium Mini Velo Nano is For Jibbin’ and Haulin’

Omnium, the Copenhagen-based makers of the best cargo bikes, according to our staff, just announced the official launch of its latest urban essential: the Nano. Designed in Denmark for agile city living with 20″ wheels and tackling daily errands with zero fuss, the Nano is their most compact loader yet, but don’t forget to hit the skatepark on the way to the market…

The Nano is a bike for the modern urban dweller. Omnium designed it with a smaller footprint to make it easier to navigate cramped living quarters and integrate seamlessly with public transportation. By ditching the car for the Nano, those longer daily distances become a breeze.

This mini velo is built around two 20″ wheels with 2.15″ tires and a shorter wheelbase. This setup delivers a snappy ride feel and gets you up to speed faster, essential for the start-and-stop nature of city riding. With a smaller footprint the Nano also makes it easier to integrate your bike with public transportation and encourage multimodal transportation making it easier to ditch your car for even bigger daily distances by bike.

Despite its compact size, the Nano is a workhorse, featuring a double-butted Chromoly steel frame and a rack that can handle up to 40kg. The total maximum loading weight, including the rider, stands at a robust 125 kg or about 275 lbs. While only being available in one size, the lower-sloped top tube makes it accessible to riders of almost any body proportion, fitting riders from 160 cm or about 5′ 2″ to 190 cm, or about 6′ 2″, and still being a great ride.
