State Drops a $1500 4130 Trail 12-Speed Hardtail

Last year’s 4130 Trail release from State Bicycle Co was a welcome bit of positive consumer news. In a time when mountain bikes cost more than a used car, the 4130 Trail Hardtail MTB delivers everything you need to get out on your local trails. Built upon a rock-solid chassis, made from double-butted 4130 chromoly steel, the 4130 Trail offers durability without compromising ride feel thanks to the RockShox Psylo fork, which we reviewed in 2024, and its progressive trail geometry.

If you want to make this affordable bike more balleur, there’s UDH compatibility, too. The 2026 model comes with 12-speed Deore and a new, Raw phosphate color. All for $1,499.99.
