Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Chapter 25 marked the end of the story, but that did not come as a surprise to any fan. When Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo was announced as a sequel spin-off for the original series, Gege Akutami made it incredibly clear that this story was only going to be a short serialization. Gege never intended for Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo to be a thing of its own, because he did not want to expand upon this world to that degree. As such, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo was always supposed to end within three volumes. While fans had hoped for it to continue for longer, Gege stuck to his word and ended it with Chapter 25.
Although JJK Modulo has ended, there is still a potential for a continuation from here on out in the future. The ending of the series is incredibly open-ended, and if anything, it feels almost as if it's unfinished. Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo is most likely going to continue in the future, and the universe of JJK is going to be expanded upon even more by Gege and Yuji Iwasaki.

How The Modulo Arc Wrapped Up With Chapter 25
JJK Modulo Chapter 25 marked the end of the manga, and the ending was certainly very intriguing. For one, JJK Modulo's ending saw to it that humans and Rumelians were living together. All the problems surrounding the various conflicts that arose due to Cursed Spirits and Kalyans have been solved, but at the same time, Cursed Energy has been reduced dramatically to the point where sorcerers won't be born anymore and only a handful of Cursed Spirits will be born in the future. One of JJK's biggest plot points has essentially been solved, and this has changed the world. Most importantly, it has allowed for the redevelopment of Tokyo after it was completely consumed by Cursed Spirits for a very long period of time, and more than that, it has allowed for two races to come together.
Yuji Itadori was also brought into the mix at the end of the series, and he gave himself a new goal of protecting the world moving forward. Essentially, JJK Modulo Chapter 25, which marked its end, hit all the beats that were expected of it and delivered a very satisfying conclusion to the story, but at the same time, it left the door open for more to follow in the future.
Gege Akutami And Yuji Iwasaki Announce A Future Return
The first thing that fans need to keep in mind is that Gege Akutami has already confirmed that he will return to writing manga. Previously, when The Illusive Samurai ended, Gege commented that he wanted to continue writing manga just like the author of the series. More recently, after the conclusion of JJK Modulo, Gege made it very clear that he now wants to take a short break and he will return re-energized, stronger than ever before.
The same comment was also made by Yuji Iwasaki, who stated that just six months of serialization completely exhausted him. As such, he will return more prepared than ever before with another story. Clearly, both Gege and Yuji Iwasaki want to return to drawing manga, but that doesn't mean that they will return to Jujutsu Kaisen. There is a possibility that they will start a new manga, or they could continue and expand the Jujutsu Kaisen universe even further.

The fact is that the Jujutsu Kaisen universe can be expanded upon even more through both a sequel and a prequel story. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo was set 68 years after the conclusion of the Sukuna Raid, which took place in Shinjuku. As such, there are 68 years' worth of content to explore for these two authors. They can easily set a story at some point in these 68 years and give the fans incredibly exciting battles that surely everyone will love.
How Yuji Itadori's Final Actions Set Up A Direct Sequel
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo chapter 25 also opened the doors for an incredible sequel to follow. As has been established by Yuji Itadori already, his next goal, together with Nobara and Todo, is going to be to recruit all the Heavenly Restriction users and mass-produce cursed tools.
He will then equip them with these cursed tools and teach them all about Jujutsu sorcery and how to fight cursed spirits. As such, when Yuji Itadori dies, Japan will have a way to fight cursed spirits that are born. At the same time, Yuji Itadori will turn himself into a cursed object for someone to eat 300 years into the future if they ever need cursed energy again.
A sequel could easily be set 10 or 20 years after the conclusion of Modulo. In this sequel, the likes of Yuka and Tsurugi will have grown into fine adults. Yuka will have access to the ring of Yuta Okkotsu, and Tsurugi will have grown incredibly powerful as well. The likes of Maru and Cross will also be heavily involved, and most importantly, it will show the fans how the Rumelians and humans have integrated and become a force to be reckoned with.
I plan on turning myself into a cursed object. — Yuji Itadori, Modulo Chapter 25
At the same time, Yuji Itadori will be leading the new generation from the front. Given his plan, any threat that will be posed to the human sorcerers and Rumelians at this point will be dealt with effectively. It will be incredibly exciting to see how this new era of sorcerers continues in this potential sequel, and needless to say, fans would love it as well.
Why The 300-Year Timeskip Must Be Explored In A Future Spinoff
Another sequel could be set even 300 years later when Yuji is consumed as a cursed object by someone else. As stated by Yuji himself, he can't predict what will happen in 300 years from now. While it doesn't seem like cursed energy is incredibly important at the moment, things might be different 300 years down the line. It might even be that a very powerful cursed spirit shows up, the likes of which cannot even be taken down by the heavily restricted Sorcerers equipped with the cursed tools. In such a case, someone can eat Yuji's cursed object and gain his immense powers. This will be very similar to the beginning of the original Jujutsu Kaisen series, only set 368 years later, and that truly is incredibly exciting.
All things considered, Jujutsu Kaisen has tremendous potential for some very exciting sequels, and fans are blessed to have such a phenomenal writer taking on some very interesting projects. Geige will return in the future for sure, and fans will most likely get to see Jujutsu Kaisen continue in one way or another.
