Dominic McLaughlin, a student at The Performance Academy (TPA) in Cambuslang, has taken on the role of Harry Potter in HBO’s adaptation of J. K. Rowling’s book series.

The talented youngster is starring in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
Fans have now been given a first glimpse of what the show will look like when it airs on HBO Max this Christmas.
The trailer officially dropped on Wednesday, March 25.

The young wizards can be seen throughout the trailer at iconic locations from the series, including Platform Nine and Three Quarters, boarding the Hogwarts Express, and the Quidditch pitch.
The first instalment of the series will follow Harry’s first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry over the course of eight episodes.
The trio were selected after an exhaustive global search that saw over 30,000 hopefuls audition following HBO’s open casting call in Autumn 2024.
Filming for the series, which is being executive-produced by JK Rowling, began last summer.
Dominic is no stranger to being on the big screen, with the youngster being a part of the cast of Grow, a Sky Comedy project starring Nick Frost, who is playing Hagrid in the new Harry Potter series.

This show premiered in late 2025.
He also appeared in the BBC’s upcoming adaptation of Marilyn Kaye’s Gifted and took to the stage in Macbeth at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh, performing alongside theatre heavyweights Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma.
