Albert Harrison is retiring as Chairman of the City of Derry Airport board.

The airport described it as the end of an era.

"Having taken the position in November 2008, Albert has been an anchor in guiding and supporting the Airport through some difficult periods during the last 17 years, and into prosperity as operations at the Gateway of the Northwest continue to expand. Albert was deservedly commended for his significant contribution to the industry as he was awarded with an OBE in 2019 for his services to aviation and airports.

"Albert, we thank you for your unwavering dedication and support, and we wish you a happy, healthy and peaceful retirement, from everyone at City of Derry Airport," the airport said.
