O-T Fagbenle played a major role in The Handmaid’s Tale, but does he plan to come back as Luke in The Testaments?
“I can neither confirm nor deny that,” Fagbenle, 45, told Us Weekly while promoting his Peacock series The Miniature Wife.
Fagbenle continued to play coy, hinting that “there have been some conversations” about him making a cameo.
“I could say that there’ll be some conversations, but I will say it’s great. I got to see it,” he noted. “I just think they’re doing such an extraordinary job.”
The Handmaid’s Tale fans have watched the cast change on and off screen since the series debuted. After The Testaments premiered on Wednesday, April 8, Fagbenle praised Chase Infiniti for her performance as his onscreen daughter. “Chase as usual is just smashing it,” he gushed, joking, “I think people should watch it right after you’ve watched The Miniature Wife.”
Fagbenle had a scene-stealing presence on The Handmaid’s Tale as June’s (Elisabeth Moss) husband. They shared a daughter, Hannah, who was reintroduced in The Testaments series premiere as Agnes.

While Fagbenle hasn’t returned to the Handmaid’s Tale universe yet, he is still booked and busy as Richard on The Miniature Wife. Based on the short story of the same name written by Manuel Gonzalez, the sci-fi romantic comedy follows a married couple whose relationship gets more complicated when a technological accident shrinks Lindy (Elizabeth Banks) to 6 inches tall.
“I’m in my lover boy era [on the show]. I love it,” Fagbenle, who plays Banks’ love interest, told Us. “One of the things I really enjoy about being an actor is being able to delve into different characters and different genres and styles. Coming off such a heavy drama, I was looking forward to doing something a little bit more big and fantastical and fun.”

He continued: “We found it in this project. I’m really excited for people to see it and to meet my character because he’s a nutter.”

Peacock viewers who binge-watched the show already know that Fagbenle’s character eventually shrinks himself as well. While (spoiler alert!) Lindy does return to her original size, Richard’s fate wasn’t shown on screen.
Us asked Fagbenle whether that left the door open for a spinoff for his character, to which he replied, “I didn’t want to say it out loud, but you said the important part out loud. We’re ready for the spinoff.”
