Song for the Mute have long been known for their epic collaborative collections – but now things are levelling up, with the brand dropping their first-ever collaborative footwear collection with the iconic Birkenstock 1774. Joining forces, the collection draws on Birkenstock’s legacy of function and durability, paired with Song for the Mute’s instinct for texture, fabric experimentation, and form. Here's everything you need to know to snag a pair for yourself.
What's in the collection?
At its core, the collection is built around four archetypes – The Artist, The Rebel, The Gardener, and The Collector. Each one is expressed through a complete look, with footwear and clothing designed together as a unified statement. The concept is simple but intentional: what you wear reflects how you move through the world.
The Artist
This shoe embraces process and imperfection. A distressed denim overall, marked and worn, is paired with a reworked London silhouette in paint-splattered suede. The result feels practical yet expressive, capturing a sense of creativity in motion.

The Rebel
Introduces a sharper tone. A structured cotton drill jumpsuit is combined with the Paris silhouette in black pony hair, where clean lines are contrasted by rich texture. The look feels controlled but carries an underlying edge.

The Gardener
Shifts the focus to ease and routine. A washed drill jumpsuit with crochet flower detailing is styled with the updated Super Birki 2.0, complete with grass-printed insoles. The overall effect is grounded, functional, and quietly connected to daily rituals.

The Collector
Brings the series to a close with restraint. A tailored felt jumpsuit is paired with the Amsterdam silhouette in polished black leather, creating a look that is material-driven, considered, and subtly archival in tone.

Across all four looks, a custom metal rivet marks the collaboration – a small but distinctive detail for Birkenstock that ties the collection together.
