Sligo property developer jailed for two years for assaulting three teens he wrongly accused of breaking window
Cathal O'ConnorA Sligo developer has been jailed at Sligo Circuit Court for two years for the assault of three 13 year old boys whom he also threatened to kill.Judge Keenan Johnson said the court very much regretted having to impose a custodial sentence on Cathal O’Connor but given the grave nature of the offending and in particular the severity of the three asaults which included the production of a saw, the choking of one of the victims, the repeated punching and kneeing of the victims and the prolonged duration of the assaults toegther with multiple death threats and efforts to intimidate the victims into silence the court had no option but to mark the high culpability of the defendant and the gravity of the offending.
