The Washington Wizards are officially on the clock.
The Wizards won the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery on Sunday, and now they have a little over a month to decide which possible generational prospect they want to add to their roster.
For the entire college basketball campaign, three players -- AJ Dybantsa, Cameron Boozer, and Darryn Peterson -- have been on top of every analyst's board as the "Big 3" heading into the draft, with each having their own special attribute that could attract a team to take them first overall.
But now that the Wizards have the first pick, who will they choose with the all-important choice? The right move might set them up to be relevant in the NBA for the first time in nearly two decades. The wrong choice could doom them to three more rebuilds.
Per Kalshi, the prediction website, one of the "Big 3" is already establishing himself as the clear No. 1 pick.\
Here are the current frontrunners to go No. 1 overall to the Wizards at the end of June.

More news: Darryn Peterson’s NBA Draft Hype is Rapidly Fading — Here’s Why
AJ Dybantsa (Duke)At 80%, Dybansta has broken clear of Boozer and Peterson to be the runaway favorite as the newest member of the Washington Wizards.
While his ceiling might not be as high as Peterson's, the explosive Dybansta has the athleticism, scoring touch, and motor to translate quickly to the fast-paced NBA.
Darryn Peterson (Kansas)Coming in at 18% currently, the allure of Peterson probably won't go away until the Wizards officially announce Dybansta on stage.
Peterson is the type of player that, if he develops properly and stays healthy, can lead a franchise to multiple championships. He can be a knockdown three-point shooter one second and the next drive to the basket for a ferocious slam, while also being a plus-defender that can transform into something more with time.
The injuries and questions on whether his passion for the game will probably steer the Wizards away from him with the first pick, but with that much talent and potential, could Washington take the risk?
Cameron Boozer (Duke)The final piece of the "Big 3" is currently down at 2% and most likely won't go much higher unless something drastic happens. Even if the Wizards trade Anthony Davis in the offseason, they have Alex Sarr developing under the basket, and would be much better off going for a gunner like Dybantsa or Peterson.
This is less about Boozer not being good enough for the No. 1 pick and more about the fit with the franchise at the top of the draft.
