The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday will begin its consideration of Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., to lead the Department of Homeland Security. President Donald Trump earlier this month fired Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and chose Mullin as her replacement. Mullin must be confirmed by his Senate peers before ascending to the role.
