US President Donald Trump says Lebanese and Israeli leaders to hold talks | BBC News

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will speak to the Lebanese President Joseph Aoun today, an Israeli minister said.

Lebanon earlier cast doubt on US President Donald Trump's claim that the leaders were due to hold talks.

“Trying to get a little breathing room between Israel and Lebanon. It has been a long time since the two leaders have spoken, like 34 years. It will happen tomorrow. Nice!", Trump wrote on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile in southern Lebanon, Israel issued a new warning to residents as its air strikes continued, while Hezbollah said it has fired rockets at Israel.
