‘Haven’t seen this in decades’: US sends diesel to Australia amid international supply issues

Macquarie University Senior Finance Lecturer Lurion De Mello details how the United States has sent diesel to Australia.

“It takes five weeks, six weeks, sometimes seven weeks for fuel to come, but America was the first country to actually send diesel across, I haven’t seen this for decades,” Mr De Mello told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

“The diesel business is a dirty business, in the sense that that oil, that really thick, high-sulphur heavy oil, requires a lot of refinery maintenance.”
