Jefferson Soil and Water urges native plants to cut yard costs and boost local ecosystems

As the cost of maintaining a yard rises with higher pesticide and fertilizer prices, one area organization is encouraging homeowners to consider a natural alternative: native plants.

The Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation is working to bring native plants back to the county and the region, with a goal of restoring the area to its original state by rebuilding the ecosystem one diverse plant at a time.
