'We're in an era of violent populism' in the US, professor Robert Pape says

Robert Pape, professor of political science at the University of Chicago, believes the US is an "era of violent populism".

He told Yalda Hakim: "What I have found is that you see political violence rising on both sides, you see assassination attempts rising against Democratic leaders, think [Melissa] Hortman, she was one of two actually assassinated last summer, Charlie Kirk, multiple attempts against Donald Trump but also attempts against Nancy Pelosi."
