High pressure to dominate as Met Eireann forecasts improved conditions

High pressure will influence our weather for the coming week, bringing improving conditions with some showers or just light rain at times, Met Eireann has forecast. It will be breezy for the rest of today with a mix of cloud and sunny spells across the country. Dry this afternoon, apart from the some scattered showery rain across Ulster with local mist up along the Atlantic seaboard too. Highest temperatures will range from 15 degrees in the Northwest and to a warm 24 degrees in the Southeast. Westerly winds will be moderate to fresh in strength. Later this evening, scattered falls of showery rain will push into west and northeast areas. Scattered outbreaks of showery rain will extend across the country tonight with low cloud and mist in places also. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with moderate westerly winds. It will be cloudy at first on Sunday morning with further outbreaks of showery rain. Brightening up through the afternoon with sunny spells and well scattered showers following. Breezy with a moderate to fresh and gusty northwesterly wind. Highest temperatures ranging from 14 degrees in the Northwest to 20 degrees in the Southeast. Here is Met Eireann's national outlook for the coming days: Overview "High pressure will influence our weather for the coming week, bringing improving conditions with some showers or just light rain at times." Sunday night "Mainly dry with clear spells, but cloudy with isolated showers at times in the west and north. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with light to moderate northwesterly winds." Monday "There'll be a few showers on Monday, but most places will stay dry. It'll be rather cloudy with just occasional sunny spells. Highest temperatures ranging from 13 degrees in the northwest to 19 degrees in the south and southeast, in a moderate and occasionally fresh northwesterly wind." Monday night "Mostly dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells. The best of the clear spells will be further east. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees with a light northwest wind." Tuesday "Cloudy conditions with spells of light patchy rain and drizzle will spread over the western half of the country through Tuesday. Elsewhere should remain dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees with a light to moderate west to northwest breeze." Tuesday night "Cloud will spread from the northwest through Tuesday night along with outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle. Lowest temperatures 11 to 14 degrees, in a light westerly wind." Wednesday "Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. The best of the sunny spells will be over the southern half of the country. Highest temperatures of 17 to 23 degrees in a light to moderate westerly wind."
