Clicks is leaning harder into tactile nostalgia, unveiling a MagSafe-compatible keyboard with battery and its own Android phone.
Clicks is known for its lineup of tactile-button keyboard iPhone cases. Initially unveiled ahead of CES 2024, the Keyboard Case drew both praise and criticism from onlookers.
The company has returned a year later, this time with a new tactile keyboard. However, instead of functioning as a case, it now functions as a MagSafe battery.
Instead of snapping your iPhone inside the Clicks Keyboard, you snap the Clicks Keyboard onto the back of your iPhone. This is kind of a big deal, at least as far as compatibility is concerned.
We've spent some time with Clicks' products in the past. In 2024, we reviewed the Clicks Keyboard for iPhone.
While the idea was solid, we weren't terribly impressed by what we saw as the one fatal flaw — the device-specific design. In previous Clicks Keyboards, every time you upgraded your iPhone, there was an excellent chance you'd need to upgrade your Clicks Keyboard, too.
If nothing else, Clicks Power Keyboard solves this problem by connecting via Bluetooth. Instead of being exclusive to specific iPhone models, the Power Keyboard works with any MagSafe-compatible iPhone.
Actually, it's compatible with any phone that can use magnetic charging. This means that Android users aren't excluded this time around.
Inside the Power Keyboard is a 2150mAh battery. This means that it will provide about a 68% charge for your iPhone Air, but only a 42% charge for your iPhone 17 Pro Max.
However, thanks to the improved battery life of newer iPhone models, you likely won't need this to resurrect a dead phone multiple times a day. Instead, it's a convenient way to extend battery life — especially while traveling.
One downside we see, though, is the weight, as it isn't particularly lightweight. It comes in at 180g. This is two grams more than the iPhone 17 at 177g.
It's also larger than an iPhone 17, at least in some dimensions. The iPhone 17 may be longer than the Clicks Power Keyboard, but the keyboard is nearly twice as thick.
The iPhone 17 is 7.95mm thick, while the Power Keyboard is 15.2mm thick. This is a substantial amount of weight and heft to add to a device that should, ideally, be portable enough to use in one hand.
If you're interested in snagging your own, the Clicks Power Keyboard is available to preorder for $79 directly from Clicks. The company is currently preparing to ship the first batch in the spring.

The Clicks Power Keyboard wasn't the only thing that Clicks announced on Friday. It also announced the Clicks Communicator.
Clicks refrains from calling the Communicator a smartphone. It instead opts to call it a "mobile communicator" and says it's "designed for doing, not doomscrolling."
But a mobile phone it is. It runs Android 16, supports 5G and lower, supports both NanoSIM and eSIM, and has 256GB on-board storage, expandable via microSD up to 2TB.
The 4.03 AMOLED display is downright tiny compared to what most other smartphones bring to the table. It does feature a 50MP OIS rear camera and a 24MP front-facing camera.
Clicks is clearly banking on nostalgia as its primary sales driver. With expandable storage, an included 3.5mm audio jack, and a tactile keyboard, it's targeting users who want a smartphone that feels more like a tool than a lifestyle device.
According to Clicks, the Communicator was designed to complement your primary device, rather than replace it. However, it is still a standalone smartphone and could function as a primary or sole device.
Anyone interested in the Clicks Communicator can preorder starting today. You can either pay the full reservation price, $399, or put down a $199 deposit — both will ensure you get early bird pricing.
The Communicator will cost $499 at launch, so Clicks suggests locking in early bird pricing before February 27.
