Jellyfin is a fantastic open-source media server, but the client applications can be rough around the edges, especially in comparison to Plex's apps. Thankfully, the Roku app for Jellyfin is now getting some helpful improvements.
First, Jellyfin for Roku version 3.1.0 has a few design changes. The music album screen has been updated with a more visible play button, better text spacing, a scrollbar in the song table, and other tweaks. If your server is updated, you'll even have a play count on songs that updates in real time. You can also select the album art to see it in full screen, or you can select the genre to view other music in that category.
The TV series screen has also been revamped, matching the music album screen layout. There's now a Play button that starts the first found media file, and a Resume button that either continues the episode you were watching or starts the next episode. You can also now expand the description to see the full text.
There are also some new settings to try out. You now have the option of switching to the next episode's detail screen after the current episode ends, and swap between vertical and horizontal poster images for movies and TV shows. The latter option can be on a per-user or per-library basis.
