Bohs sign MLS keeper Walters in loan deal
Bohemians have signed FC Cincinnati goalkeeper Paul Walters on a season-long loan.
The 21-year old American joins following the departure of James Talbot in the off-season and is expected to serve as back-up keeper to first choice Kacper Chorazka.
Walters has been the regular keeper for the Cincinnati second team for the past three seasons and has made a handful of appearances for the MLS outfit's first team in cup competitions.
Manager Alan Reynolds said: "We have done our homework on Paul and he comes to the club very highly rated.
"He recently signed a long-term contract at Cincinnati where they think really, really highly of him. He wants to try the experience of playing abroad here in Ireland and he is really looking forward to getting started with us, so it's an exciting move for him and for us."
Walters himself expressed excitement at joining a historic club with "real identity."
He said: "I’m really excited to be joining Bohs this season. I’m looking forward to getting started and being part of such a historic club with a truly passionate fan base.
"From everything I’ve heard and seen, it’s a club with real identity and ambition."
Walters is the fifth addition to the Bohemians squad ahead of the 2026 campaign, joining his compatriot Patrick Hickey, who joined from Galway United, Sam Todd arriving from Derry City, Hugh Martin (UCD) and Harry Vaughan (Hull City, loan).
