Knott's Berry Farm thrill seeker taught painful lesson after trying to cut line at crowded theme park

A woman who cut in line at a popular theme park in California hit a female security guard in the face before the guard tackled her to the ground as onlookers cheered.

The confrontation took place on Saturday at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, a small city in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, and it was captured on video by a witness.

In the video, which was obtained by KTLA, the woman who cut the line can be seen arguing with the security guard while another theme park guest attempts to get between the two.

The line-cutter could then be seen hitting the guard in the face, shocking onlookers who loudly exclaimed.

The security guard then immediately tackled the woman who hit her to the ground, and the exclamations turned into cheers.

The guard seems to have suffered a nosebleed from being struck, as after taking out a pair of handcuffs to restrain the unruly guest, she could be seen wiping her nose with her sleeve.

A witness told KTLA that the confrontation began after an employee barred the woman who hit the security guard from entering the attraction she had cut the line for.

The confrontation escalated into an argument, drawing security guards over, which then escalated into an assault. The video begins after the argument was already well underway.

The witness told KTLA, 'Knott’s staff did an excellent job in deescalating the situation,' adding that they made the situation 'less traumatic,' because despite being assaulted, the guard 'did not use pepper spray or violence. She quickly got her on the floor.'

The witness also said that police later arrived and handcuffed the woman who hit the security guard and the woman who tried getting in between the two.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, Knott's Berry Farm confirmed that the Buena Park Police Department arrested the two women, though it did not detail what they were charged with.

'The park is committed to providing a safe and orderly environment for all guests and does not tolerate inappropriate behavior,' the statement said.

The theme park previously told KTLA that visitors must follow its code of conduct and maintain a family-friendly environment.

The code of conduct explicitly prohibits 'offensive behavior' and 'disruptive actions.'

Line-cutting is so frequent in the theme park that in 2024, it introduced a system that allows visitors to text security guards to alert them to line jumpers.

The theme park has faced similar instances of unruly behavior in recent years. In 2023, the park implemented a policy for minors requiring all guests below the age of 16 to be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old.

A year later, a video that went viral on TikTok provided step-by-step instructions on how to sneak into Knott's Berry Farm for free by climbing over the wall.

Anyone caught cutting lines, the park warned, is subject to being kicked out.
