Kinaxia Logistics has signed a multimillion-pound technology deal to improve driver safety, efficiency and customer visibility across its operations.
The logistics group has selected transport management software from Qargo and the Connected Operations Platform from Samsara following a comprehensive market review.
Kinaxia operates a nationwide logistics network serving the retail, leisure, food and drink and manufacturing sectors, providing services including warehousing, distribution and contract logistics.
The logistics business said the rollout is designed to “enhance customer experience, improve route planning and support sustainability goals, while helping the business match service standards more commonly associated with the parcel sector”.
Kinaxia said the introduction of Qargo’s transport management platform will provide real-time freight visibility, with its customers able to access up-to-date tracking through an online portal.
A dedicated driver app will also be launched as part of the partnership, alongside automated proof-of-delivery and invoicing processes.
Keeping driver safety and welfare at the heart of the businessSamsara’s platform will use telematics to monitor traffic conditions and issue real-time weather alerts to drivers.
In-cab cameras and digital vehicle inspection tools will generate live data to support driver safety, compliance, performance and fuel efficiency, while also helping to reduce vehicle downtime.
Kinaxia chief operating officer Allan Blakeley said: “Our investment marks a pivotal moment in the company’s operational transformation.
“By harnessing the combined strengths of Qargo and leveraging the technologies of Samsara, we’re equipping our teams with the tools to deliver unparalleled levels of service to our customers, all while keeping driver safety and welfare at the very heart of our business.”
Adriaan Coppens, co-founder and chief executive of Qargo, said the partnership would help deliver more efficient and sustainable operations across Kinaxia’s network.
John Mills, regional sales director at Samsara, said: “Kinaxia’s commitment to achieving operational excellence and keeping drivers safe is directly aligned with the core mission of Samsara.
“By leveraging our Connected Operations Platform, Kinaxia is empowering their teams with real-time data analytics to deliver a new level of efficiency and service to their customers.”
Samsara signed a partnership deal with Allianz UK towards the end of last year to make risk management technology more accessible to a broader range of UK fleets.
