Gardaí have arrested one person, and seized electric scooters, mini-scramblers, drugs and cash, following a search operation.
Gardaí from the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) North Central Functional Areas conducted a search operation on Tuesday morning at a number of locations.
As part of ongoing investigations targeting on-street drug dealing in Dublin's North Inner City, 21 locations were searched and Gardaí seized a number of vehicles suspected of being used to facilitate on-street drug dealing, specifically e-scooters, e-bikes and scrambler motor bikes.
Alongside efforts to disrupt and dismantle drug distribution networks, the Garda operation was aimed at combating drug-related intimidation and further organised crime activity associated with these networks.
Today’s searches resulted in the seizure of 18 electric scooters, one motorbike, five mini scramblers, and five motorised bicycles as well as around €55,000 worth of controlled drugs and €10,740 in cash. One person was arrested on foot of an outstanding bench warrant.
A Garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
