White House spokesperson scolds Bruce Springsteen's ICE Protest Song
A White House spokesperson has criticised rock star Bruce Springsteen’s new anti-ICE protest song.
The legendary musician released a new song called ‘The Streets of Minneapolis’ in the wake of the terror by ICE agents in the city, including the shooting and killing of mother Renee Nicole Good, just a few blocks from her home earlier this month.
That was followed just weeks later by the shooting of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old nurse at the Department of Veterans Affairs hospital.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called for the White House to end the ICE operation in the state, saying: Minnesota has had it. This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.’
There have been mass protests in the wake of these incidents and many more, and Springsteen, among other musicians have released protest songs against ICE.
In a statement released in the aftermath of the song’s release, Springsteen detailed why he chose to make a song at this time.

‘I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday, and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis.’
‘It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbours and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free, Bruce Springsteen’
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson branded the song as ‘random’ and full of ‘irrelevant opinions’ about the shooting of two innocent US citizens.

‘The Trump administration is focused on encouraging state and local Democrats to work with federal law enforcement officers on removing dangerous criminal illegal aliens from their communities,’ Jackson told The Hollywood Reporter.
‘Not random songs with irrelevant opinions and inaccurate information. The media should cover how Democrats have refused to work with the administration, and instead, opted to provide sanctuary for these criminal illegals.’
Despite what Jackson may be portraying, it seems like the protests have worked in some sense, as the Trump Administration are working to try ‘rein in ICE and end the violence,’ according to Senator Chuck Schumer.
