Dining in the intimate, welcoming space of Mélisse in Santa Monica is already an experience to remember. Now imagine doing so while enjoying a four-hands collaboration by two of California’s most outstanding chefs: Josiah Citrin, chef of two-Michelin-starred Mélisse, and Harrison Cheney, British-born chef of two-Michelin-starred Sons & Daughters in San Francisco.
The date is set for February 24th, in Mélisse’s backstage dining room. One night only, just 30 guests and a rare opportunity to attend a dinner that brings together four Michelin stars and connects Northern and Southern California around five tables.
In this four-hands encounter, Mélisse’s French technique (above) enters into dialogue with the Nordic-influenced minimalism of Sons & Daughters (right), tracing a shared culinary language. Photos courtesy of Mélisse and Sons & Daughters.
A dialogue expressed through the menu
The dinner will be served in two seatings of 15 guests each and will feature a 14-course menu that distils, in flavour and execution, two distinct yet closely aligned philosophies: a profound respect for seasonality and an extraordinary capacity for personal expression in every dish.
Through a culinary journey across land, sea and orchard, guests will experience dishes that highlight Josiah Citrin’s elegant, precision-driven Californian cooking and modern French technique, alongside Harrison Cheney’s minimalist, Nordic-inspired and radically sustainable approach, recognised with a Michelin Green Star. More than a collaboration, the evening of February 24th becomes a dialogue between two chefs expressing California through their cooking.
A four-hands dinner that, for one night, places California at the centre of the culinary conversation.
