New Ravens head coach Jesse Minter needs a complete new staff for 2026. Second-year head coach Aaron Glenn fired many of his assistants after the Jets finished the season with a 3-14 record.
By the start of February, many of the top assistant coaches in the league have already found employment for next season. However, one former NFL player and current ESPN radio host thinks he'd be a qualified candidate to join the Ravens or Jets for the upcoming season.

Per Tony Pauline of Essentially Sports, Bart Scott is looking to become a linebackers coach with New York or Baltimore.
"Scott’s representative, Harold Lewis, told me the former Pro Bowl linebacker wants to get into coaching and help his former team, the New York Jets, turn the franchise around," Pauline wrote. Scott himself said that he would love to coach for the Jets or Ravens, and he’s eager to pass on his intellectual knowledge of the game to younger players."
"Scott made the point that former players such as Mike Vrabel and DeMeco Ryans have had great success coaching in the league because they relate to players and have experience with situations players face daily. He is also concerned that most organizations in the NFL just mold players to schemes implemented by their coaches rather than helping them learn the entire game and become complete players."
Scott argued that there aren't enough coaches that act as teachers in the league.
Scott started his career with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2002. The linebacker earned second-team All-Pro honors and a Pro Bowl appearance for the 2006 season. He joined the Jets in 2009 and ended his career with New York in 2012.
Scott appeared in 172 games and started in 118 games. He recorded 732 tackles, 25 sacks, six forced fumbles and four interceptions during his 11 seasons in the league.
