Walthamstow’s Newest Club – The Olfa Club

Wines from a fiver, a mineralised water menu and BYO vinyls

A new listening bar has opened in Walthamstow, bringing Japanese-inspired interiors, a carefully curated sound system and a seriously strong drinks list to the neighbourhood. The Olfa Club offers 27 wines by the glass, with prices starting from a fiver, alongside a mineralised water menu, plus a record player for guests who want to bring their own vinyl or dip into the in-house selection.

The space comes from the husband-and-wife duo behind Long & Short Coffee, which also nods to Japanese coffee culture. The much-loved Walthamstow café is known for its line-up of more than 30 coffee blends, as well as its specialist “Vault” freezer, where rare, high-scoring beans such as Panama Geisha, Sidra and Eugenioides are stored at –24°C. For now, food at The Olfa Club is limited to snacks, but a resident chef programme is planned. Eastern Platters most recently took over the kitchen, serving Malaysian-inspired dishes – a promising sign of what’s to come.

No website but if you really want to join the club, get involved in WhatsApp (deets on their social media).
